The 2025 Formula 1 season is reaching its final chapter this weekend with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the 24th and final round of the championship. The action at the Yas Marina Circuit kicked off on Friday, with British driver Lando Norris (McLaren) winning both sessions. On Saturday morning, another Briton, George Russell (Mercedes), took the top spot in the third free practice. The activities will continue at 11:00 AM local time, when the qualifying session will begin to determine the starting grid for Sunday's race. The battle for the 2025 season title features three contenders: McLaren's British driver Lando Norris and Australian Oscar Piastri, and Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull). Norris is the strong favorite, leading Verstappen by 12 points and Piastri by 16. A podium finish would be enough for him to secure the title regardless of other results. Meanwhile, Argentine Franco Colapinto (Alpine) will aim to finish the season as best he can, having a difficult 2025 in which he has yet to score any points.
